Our first freebie!

Introducing Sassy Designs!!!!

We recently got the chance to chat with Terry the owner/designer of Sassy designs, many of our photographers love her designs and she agreed to let everyone try one out!

Here is a little background on Terry, followed by the links to the freebie as well as to her store

How long has her Etsy been open?

I’ve been a member of Etsy since September 2007 but didn’t officially open a shop of my own until July of this year.

What inspires your designs?

I find inspiration everywhere. I know that may sound cliché but it is true. Being a former website designer I am used to planning page layouts in my head, or sketching them out on paper. I can see a magazine ad or a television ad which will inspire a template layout.

What is the most popular seller?

The number one seller in my shop is the “City Girl” paper pack. “Uptown” is a close second – they take turns in that top spot!

Your color combos are wonderful - how did you come up with them?

I love looking at paint samples. I actually have a drawer full of them and I love flipping through them for inspiration!! I also find color inspiration in everyday things like product packaging, ad campaigns, and television commercials.

Will you be adding new designs anytime soon?

I am adding new things constantly – almost daily! There is always something fresh in the shop!

What got you started in designing templates?

I started out as a website designer back in 1997. Through the years I started branching out and doing print / publication design and ad design. I really enjoyed working on smaller projects, especially after having my son in 2006.

When my oldest and dearest friend started her own photography business she hired me on the side to design custom business forms for her so she could get her brand in place. Then she asked for my design help in creating custom birth announcements for her clients. That is ultimately what got me started designing card templates. Card templates then led me to designing digital papers and design elements for use in creating templates.
